At North Road Nursery our aim is to teach children the basic elements of Arabic as a modern foreign language. We start off with teaching children how to pronounce and write the letters of the Aarbic alphabet. Then, we move on to teaching them the days of the week, the months and seasons. In addition, we  introduce shapes, numbers and colours to cover both numeracy and creativity.

Once children have learned these skills, we teach them how to write their names in Arabic. Most importantly, we recap and intergrate lessons on a regular basis so children do not forget, as our main aim is to provide them with good quality teaching and learning.

As a Muslim nursery, North Road Nursery intergrates basic aspects of the religion within our teaching and learning. At an early age, we introduce short surats of Quran such as surat Al-Fatiha, Al-Ikhlas, AnnaS and Al-Falaq. These are taught based on the Rules of Tadjweed yet in a simplified way.

We also teach children the basic elements of the religion such as saying Bismillah before they start eating, and Alhamdulillah after they finish, alongside the importamce of the 5 daily prayers.
